Mr David Rhodes of Bradford passed away peacefully at Bradford Royal Infirmary on the 9th January, aged 95 years, his family were with him.
David and his wife Sheila lived at their family home for over 60 years, spending many happy years together. He worked at Shipley Town Hall as a local government officer, before enjoying early retirement.
Cricket was a big part of David's life, he played for Windhill cricket club for many years. He also enjoyed buying and selling paintings. David and Sheila saw many famous entertainers over the years , including Frank Sinatra and Shirley Bassey.He enjoyed gardening and liked to keep his lawn neat !
David will be sadly missed by his wife, Sheila. His daughter Bev and his late son Ian. His Grandchildren Sally, Roger, Chris and Olivia, Carol, his daughter-in-law, Darren, his son-in-law, Liam Olivia's fiancee and many nephews and nieces. He was a dear friend to many and will be sadly missed by all.
David's funeral service will take place on Monday, 9th February at 2:30 pm, Rawdon Crematorium.
Donations in David's memory will be most welcome at the service with all proceeds going to Yorkshire County Cricket Club Foundation.
